B-BBEE Absorption
The Scorecard
Absorption refers to the number of Black people absorbed by a company at the end of the Learnership and Internship Programmes as stipulated in the B-BBEE Scorecard – see below.
Absorption is worth 5 bonus points on the Skills Development Scorecard.

The Skills College Value-offering
Skills College has crafted a unique 2-year programme to assist companies to achieve the maximum of 5 bonus points.
In year 1 the unemployed learners follow a learnership’s theoretical and practical components of an accredited qualification.
In year 2 Skills College places and manages these learners in industry co-operatives for permanent employment, which constitutes absorption. Our pet project Ubusha eWasha plays an important role in guaranteeing absorption.
In this way the learners are assisted with their preparation for careers though academic qualifications and placement, and companies are enabled to maximise their Skills Development Spend by obtaining the 5 bonus points.
